This project aims to explore feelings of nostalgia by using familiar and particular scents as a way to reconnect the individual to deeply personal memories. The scents should bring to question, what kind of memories we associate with certain scents and how it influences our perception of our current realities.

Upon exploration, there will be an emphasis on visualizing how we see scents in the mind’s eye while also questioning how our connection to the past has formed our personal narratives. Nostalgia will be used as a tool for mental time travel as we discover how it informs our present selves in ultimately positive and meaningful ways.
